This weekly program is a universal prevention program designed to mitigate the risk factors and enhance the protective factors related to alcohol, tobacco, and other drug use. The program introduces and develops social and emotional skills for making healthy choices, building positive friendships, communicating effectively, and resisting peer pressure. Each grade level is designed to meet the students’ at their developmental benchmarks, while focusing on essential social and emotional learning skills such as: goal setting, decision making, bonding with pro-social others, identifying and managing emotions, and communicating effectively. Too Good For Violence (k-8)
This weekly program is a universal prevention program designed to foster social skills linked with healthy development and academic success, such as: conflict resolution, anger management, respect for self and others, effective communication, responsible decision making, goal setting and pro-social peer bonding. Each lesson focuses on promoting character development in these key areas: caring, cooperation, courage, fairness, honesty, respect, responsibility, and self-discipline. Students practice managing bullying situations and choosing peaceful ways to resolve conflict and manage stress and frustration. Evidence-based. Too Good For Drugs and Violence (HS)
This weekly program is utilized one time during the student’s high school career. The curriculum provides teenagers with real world challenges faced in high school by exploring practical guidance for understanding the negative health effects related to prescription drug misuse, underage drinking, marijuana abuse, opioid abuse, and nicotine use. Students learn the stages of addiction and the risks associated with experimentation. This program encourages social awareness and self-awareness when faced with internal pressures to take unhealthy risks to fit in with their peers or escape. Evidence-based. TEEN INTERVENE (ages 12-19)
Teen Intervene is a tested, time-efficient, evidence-based prevention program for teenagers suspected of experiencing mild or moderate problems associated with alcohol or other drug use. This is not a counseling program, but a guided prevention program to help teens get back on track with their life goals. Sessions are voluntary, with parental consent. Session can be completed in 2-3 separate sessions; each session being 40 minutes to 1 hour in length. Sessions are done via Zoom by our partner organization Prevention Connection Virtual Hub/Catholic Charities of Herkimer County. Safety and confidentiality upheld. PreVenture (Ages 12-17)

Tailor Made Presentations (students)
ADAC will create workshops for students, based on the schools/organization’s needs. Topics covered in the past are: Alcohol 101, Bullying, Leadership, and Effective Communication.

Topics covered in the past have been: Substance Use and Misuse, Problem Gambling, Drug Trends, The 5 Values of Trauma Informed Practices, Self-Care, Managing Stress and Anxiety and Building Resiliency in Self and Others.

Hiding the High
This is an interactive experience FOR ADULTS ONLY (no one under 21 permitted) designed to:
- Help parents and caregivers recognize signs and symptoms of teenage drug use (REVEAL)
- Approach someone you care about who is suspected of abusing drugs (RESPOND)
- Teach strategies that restore trust (RESTORE)

Professional Development
